For many decades, Youth Encounter weekends had been held at Marygrove Retreat Center in Garden, MI.  On July 3rd, 2019, Marygrove closed its doors after serving the people of the Diocese of Marquette for eight decades.  With the closing of Marygrove, Youth Encounter needed to find a new home. 

Thankfully, there are many beautiful places in the U.P., and Fortune Lake Camp is one of those places.  In early July, we signed a contract to have Youth Encounter weekends at Fortune Lake Camp near Crystal Falls, MI.  We're very excited that Fortune Lake Camp will host us on November 8-10, 2019 and March 6-8, 2020!  

Fortune Lamp Camp has been in operation since 1930.  It is currently affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and they are very happy to host us for the Youth Encounter weekend.  The property consists of a main lodge, dining hall, three duplexes, chapel, and lake.  As we begin this new chapter in the history of Youth Encounter, we're happy to partner with Fortune Lake Camp in helping young people prepare for, receive, and respond to an encounter wtih Christ!
